NOTA: A saberse, esta lista es de mis gustos personales. La he creado como glosario de todo lo que me ha dejado una huella en este último año, películas, mùsica, libros, ètcetera. Son cosas que sino las establezco en escrito ahora que lo recuerdo después no podré si quiera dar una breve plática sobre ellos.
Tengan en cuenta que estos gustos se remiten a mi paìs, mi economía y mis aficiones particulares así que de ningún modo planea que los demás compartan todos mis gustos. Lo que sería más interesante es saber sus favoritos, escríbanme en los comentarios y nos pondremos a discutir de lo lindo.

It's something that if i didn't write down now, I'll probably just forget about their importance in the passing years. This list is under the context of my country, economy, personal hobbies and interests and in no way tries to be objective or pleasant. En muchas ocasiones, paso años buscando
libros que quiero leer. Yo sabía, por ejemplo, que Anagrama había publicado a
Kathy Acker puesto que aparecía un título de ella en la colección de
contraseñas. Lo busqué por todos lados y milagrosamente, encontré una copia en
la FIL del 2008, “Aborto en la escuela” fue esa novela que me hizo saber que
todo era posible en las letras. Fue el primer libro que vi donde se juntaba
caligrafía, cuento, guión, poesía, y
dibujos en una sola novela, e impactó fuertemente mi estilo y mi forma de
concebir literatura. Ahora, cuatro años después, tuve que salir de mi país para
poder conseguir otro libro de Kathy, y la espera valió la pena.

Often, i find myself searching the books i want to read for years. For example, i knew that Anagrama (ed.) had published Kathy Acker’s blood and guts in high school because i‘ve read it in its catalog. I went and search for it for a long time a miraculuosly, i found a copy beneath a great stack of books in the FIL( International Fair of Books). When i did read it, it was the book that made me wonder about all the posibilities and mixtures one can do with the written word. In this book you can identify various genres and styles like caligraphy, short story, script, poetry, and drawings all inside a single novel, which made a lifetime impression on my artwork. Now, four years later, i had to travel away from my country to get another book of hers, and the wait was so worth it.

Mi relación con Taller Ditoria fue algo
que se sucedió este año, entre tantas cosas, y todo empezó por la cita de
Giacomo Leopardi que usé en Soy el cuervo que criaste este año. Fuimos a conocer a Roberto a su taller, y nos
habló de sus piezas, de su teoría sobre el color, de los temas que gusta
retratar. Tengo que admitirlo, esa primera vez no supe apreciar lo que estaba
viendo, pero con el tiempo, como una fotografía polaroid que se releva, lo he
apreciado todo con mayor claridad. Inmaterial es la obra donde Roberto junta
sus profesiones de pintor y editor y hace un libro totalmente personal, íntimo,
y que demuestra una larguísima experiencia artística, que sólo podría desear
continúe.

My relationship with Taller Ditoria
started this year, when i used a quote from the book of Giacomo Leopardi that
they had edited in my recent novel Soy el cuervo que criaste. I went to meet
the painter Roberto Rébora to his studio, and he talked to me about his artwork,
the theory of color that he applies to each new piece, and the themes that he
likes to portrait. I have to admit it, the first time i watched his work i was
not really impressed by it, but with patience, like a polaroid that reveals
itselfs, i have come to appreciate his work more and more. Inmaterial is the
work where Roberto mixes his skills of painting and editing to bring us an
intimate book, purely pasional, which demonstrates a largely a compromised
series of Works, which i can only desire that he keeps doing for a
long time.

Fuera de todas esas listas que enumeran a
Kendrick Lamar como el mejor disco de hip hop en el año estamos aquellos que
supieron darle su lugar a la otra estrella de Top Dawg Entertainment. Control system es mi disco favorito del año
por ser el único en manternerlo gangsta.

Apart from all this year lists that have
Kendrick’s Good Kid Mad City as best álbum of the year, here we are some of us
that knew who was the real star in Top Dawg Entertainment this year. Control
system is my favorite álbum of this year because it was the only one who keep
it gangsta.

La cruda historia detrás de una pregunta que al menos
todos hemos escuchado alguna vez. Para la supuesta generación más nostálgica
que se ha dado en la historia de la humanidad, es bueno recibir el cinismo
necesario que nos haga racionalizar lo que nosotros mismos hemos causado. Es
como esa portada del Newsweek en donde podemos ver Nueva York debajo del agua
con un título que nos regaña “Es el calentamiento global, estúpido”.

The crude tale behind one of the most asked questions
among my friends. To this supossedly ultra-nostalgic generation that we are
part of it is good and healthy to receive the necessary cynicism so we could
rationalize about the problems we create and have to deal with. It’s like that
cover of Newsweek where you can see an underwater New York with the title “It’s
global warming, stupid”.
CINEMA
He visto esta película en el cine dos
veces. Si pudiera, si siguiera en mi ciudad y no la quitaran debido a que nadie
más la va a ver, la vería más. He aprendido a apreciar la obra de Reygadas
mejor con el tiempo, aunque sigo pensando que Batalla en el Cielo es un intento
fallido, este proyecto se siente necesario, tanto por el director como para la
sociedad que refleja. México cada vez tiene más resonancia en las premiaciones
internacionales, y son películas tan íntimas como estas las que lo están
logrando.

I’ve seen this movie in cinema two times
now. If i could, and if my city still had it in theatres, i would go to watch
it again. I’ve learned to aprecciate Carlos Reygadas movies better with the
years, and though i still think Batalla en el cielo it’s full of failures, this
new proyect felt necessary, for the director and for the society that he
portraits. Mexico is constantly making his way again with movies that shake the
state of modern cinema with their intimacy and deliveredness, and this is one
movie that you cannot lose sight of.

Mi única consola es un Wii y hay que aceptarlo: absolutamente nada bueno salió en el 2012 que valiera la pena comprar. Jugué este juego en computadora después de haber visto un playtrough en VGA’S, y amé todo de él, la historia, los niveles y sobre todos los intrínsecos chistes para ñoños que hay a lo largo del juego. Supuestamente puedes usar un control de emulador para ser aún más retro, pero nunca pude configurarlo para que el mío funcionara.

I only have a Wii and let’s face it.
Nothing came out in 2012 worth buying. I played this game after seeing vga’s
playtrough, and i totally love the story, the levels and most of all the nerd
in-jokes. Supossedly you can use a controller to be even more retro, but i
never got to figured it out.

Soy demasiado fan de este wey. Le he
escrito correos de los que solo me ha respondido con unas cuantas palabras,
denotando su desinterés en mí. Aún así, y aunque no aparezca tan seguido en mi
tumblr, the sour puss es mi blog favorito de toda la vida. Como todo en el internet,
no sé cómo lo encontré, me escandaliza
diariamente y lo veo con morbo desde hace años. ¿Para qué más uno prendería la
computadora?

I am too much of a fan of this guy. I’ve
written mails which he had only replied with a few words, showing me that he
has no interest in knowing who i am. Nevertheless, and although i don’t reblog
him as much as i would want to, The sour puss had been my favorite blog since i
own an account in tumblr. Like everything that’s good in the internet, i don’t
know how i find it in the first place, it shocks me on a daily basis and i have
to be on the privacy of my room to properly lurk in it. Why else would you open
your laptop?

son los de un hombre desesperado por tener un lugar en el mundo, denotando su
